Diagnostic Injections
On some occasions it is difficult to identify the exact source of a patient's symptoms, especially when they have evidence of degenerative disease in the lower back as well as the hips or knees. In these situations by injecting anaesthetic into the hip joint, one can either exclude or confirm it as the isolated source of the problem. The injected anaesthetic wears of so it is crucial that patients keep an accurate pain log (link to patient form) in order that I can make a decision based on the result.
