Overseas Elective Students
We have hosted numerous medical students on their electives from all over the world, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Ghana, Canada to name a few.
I believe that the elective experience is as much about cultural exchange as it is about medical education, and that it allows you the opportunity to experience our world class hospital as well as our amazing city. We make a point of involving you on the firm, and ensure your timetables reflect an accurate balance between work and play. To an extent the intensity of the work you do within the hospital is up to you, and we can make provision for you to even do on calls overnight with the night team if that is what you wish to experience. We can get you to do projects and see complex operations, but only if you promise to enjoy it !
If you wish to make further enquiries to obtain a placement with us, visit out facebook site to see what the previous students thought of their time with us, and then contact Emily McLean Inglis who is the medical school elective co-ordinator.
